Cedar Hill is a one-and-a-half story brick structure with a two-story porch tower. It boasts a cruciform floor plan, a rare survivor in Maryland


Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the building was constructed from timbers felled in the winter of 1777/8, the winter of 1778/9, and the winter of 1779/80.
