Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the smokehouse was constructed from timbers felled in the winter of 1829/30. Barn Two was felled with timbers from the spring of 1825 and winter 1825/6 and Barn One was built using timbers felled in the spring of 1832 and the winter of 1832/3.
