The Piper Farm is located within the grounds of Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, MD. The surviving structures include a main house, a kitchen block, and a root cellar. The main house is a two-story log house featuring an L-shaped plan. The kitchen is a one-and-a-half story stone and log structure located to the west of the main house. The root cellar is located to the south of the main house.

Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the kitchen building was constructed from timbers felled in the winter of 1842/3 and the spring of 1843. The main house and the root cellar were found to be unsuitable for dendrochronological sampling.
