Individual Sample 1655-1847 (white oak) ssmd1 (t = 6.04 PA006; 5.44 wsos1; 5.36 swvz7). Site Master 1630-1845 (Eastern hemlock) SSMDx1 (t = 8.89 PA013; 8.74 BYMDx5; 8.03 NY012).
The original house at Severnside was a two-and-a-half story, five-bay main block built in the Federal style with multiple subsequent additions. It was demolished prior to sampling.
Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the building was constructed from timbers felled in the summer of 1843, the summer of 1846, and the winter of 1847/8.
