Whitehall is a five-part brick building, composed of a central block with a wing attached by hyphens on each side.
Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the center section of the building was constructed from timbers felled in the winter of 1764/5 and the east wing was built from timbers felled in the winter of 1767/8 and the winter of 1769/70.
