Ocean Hall is a one-and-a-half story brick dwelling notable for its distinctive roof structure. The bent principal trusses are fixed to the tie beams rather than the wall plates and support a ridge beam at the top where they cross.
Dendrochronological analysis has shown that the building was constructed from timbers felled in the winter of 1717/01 and the spring of 1719. A number of reused timbers found in the attic date to the spring of 1723 and summer of 1724.
